2019 (3rd) Belt & Road and BRICS Skills Development and TechnologyInnovation Competition — Arc Cup International Welding Competition(hereinafter referred to as 2019 Arc Cup Competition) and theInternational Seminar of Advanced Manufacturing Technology and Skillswill be co-hosted by BRICS Business Council(BBC), InternationalAlliance of Skills Development(IASDBR), Asian Welding Federation(AWF), China Association of Inventions(CAI), China Center for International People-to-People Exchange, Ministry of Education, China Welding Association(CWA), China Workers’ Welding Technology Association（CWWTA）, Additive Manufacturing and 3D pringting institution of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society, and Organizing Committee of Arc Cup International Welding Competition (OC ARCIWC) in June or September, 2019, to establish an international professionals cooperation platform for skills development and technology innovation, promote skills development and technology exchanges, speed up the training of welders and improve their welding level.
The “Arc Cup” Competition has been successfully held for 6 sessionssince its launch in 2010. Up to now, there have been over 30 countriesand nearly 1900 competitors, participating the Competition, includingRussia, UK, Swiss, Czech Republic, Austria, Portugal, Serbia, Thailand, Germany, Korea, Singapore, Kazakhstan, Vietnam, Mongolia, Cambodia,Ukraine, Belarus, Cameroon, Pakistan, Ghana, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, South Africa, Iran, Bulgaria, Romania and etc.

II. Competition Projects and Competition Time

2.The Sixth International Robot Welding Competition Time: June 25th-28th, 2019 (24th Beijing Essen Welding & CuttingFair will be held concurrently) Venue: Shanghai New International Expo Center ( The 24th BeijingEssen Welding & Cutting Fair Site), Shanghai, China 1) Robots Welding Programming and Operation Competitio 2) Robot Additive Manufacturing with Welding Arc Competition 3) Intelligent Welding Production Line Programming and Operatio Competition Note:Intelligent Welding Production Line Programming and Operation Competition will be held on Sep. 9th-13th, in Foshan, Guangdong Province, China. 3. The Seventh International Welding Skills Competition Time: September 9th-13th, 2019; Venue: Foshan City, GuangdongProvince, China. 1) Shielded Metal Arc Welding (111/SMAW) 2) Gas Metal Arc Welding (135/GMAW) 3) Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (141/GTAW) 4) Oxygen Fuel Gas Welding (311/OFW) 5) Finished-product Welding(111SMAW/141GTAW/135GMAW/136FCAW) 6) Welding Competition for Non-regulated Projects (UT, Advanced welding equipment, Advanced welding technologyperformance, expert performance of special welding and cutting) 4.The First All-position Automatic Welding Competition for Pipeline During the competition, a group of pipes was completed by two welders, and the test pieces were welded up to complete the competition. Time: September 9th-13th, 2019; Venue: Foshan City, Guangdong Province, China
III. Competitor Requirement
1. The Third International Welding Technology Competition Undergraduates, higher vocational and secondary vocationalstudents (including postgraduates); teachers from colleges anduniversities, and researchers from scientific research organizations;welding engineering technicians; welders and relevant managementstaff, etc. 2. The Sixth International Robot Welding Competition Competitors should be qualified welding robot operators. 3. The Seventh International Welding Skills Competition Welders with age between 18-35 years old; Students over the age of 16. 4.The First All-position Automatic Welding Competition for Pipeline Without age limitation, each welder can only participate in one of the welding competitions. 5.Participation Teams (1) Foreign Participation Teams. (2) China state-owned enterprises. (3) China vocational schools. (4) Other China enterprises and organizations.
IV. Assessment Standards & Ranking Method
1. Assessment Standards Domestic and foreign judges make assessment together to guaranteethe fairness and justice of the refereeing activities according tointernational recognized standards and rules. 1) The Third International Welding Technology Competition 2) The Sixth International Robot Welding Competition This competition follows ISO9606 international standards anregulations. 3) The Seventh International Welding Skills Competition For this competition, domestic and foreign judges make assessmenttogether based on ISO9606 international standards and rules toguarantee the fairness and justice of the refereeing activities. (4)The First All-position Automatic Welding Competition for Pipeline The Competition is evaluated and assessed by the GB/T 31032-2014, GB/T 50818-2013 standard. 2. Ranking Method 1) Group Award: This award is granted to teams according to totalteam scores. The total scores of each team are calculated by addingup the scores of each team’s 3 best individual competitors in singlecompetition project. The teams with less than 3 competitors cannotbe ranked in Group Award. 2) Individual Award: The best competitor in single competitionproject in each country (or delegation) can be ranked in IndividualAward. 3) Young Competitors Award: Young competitors under 25(included) years old can be ranked in the Young Competitor Award. 4) Student Competitors Award: Student competitors of each schoolcan be ranked in the Student Competitor Award.
V. Recognition and Awards
1. Group Awards Group Awards are granted to teams. The teams will be honored withCups and Certificates. 2. Individual Awards 1) For the Third International Welding Technology Competition, theFirst, the Second and the Third Prize will be awarded to individualsbased on different groups, which may cover 60% of the competitors. And these winners will be awarded honor certificates. 2) The Seventh International Welding Skills Competition and the SixthInternational Robot Welding Competition: There are totally tenindividual competition projects according to different welding process. Each project has the First, Second and Third Prize. And the First Prizehas the First Place, Second Place and Third Place. The First Prizewinners will be awarded certificates, medals and prizes; The Secondand Third Prize winners will be awarded certificates. 3) All competitors have the equal chance to win the certificate o“Excellent Welder Prize” of 2019 Arc Cup International Competition. 4)The First All-position Automatic Welding Competition for Pipeline: it will be awarded the first, second and third prizes with certificates, medals and prizes. 5) All qualified competitors will be eligible to get a Skill Passport. TheSkill Passport is the international evaluation certificate for skills level, which can be used for international enterprise job application.
VI. Priority
1. There is no registration fees for international competitors 2.“National Winner” who won the First Place once in their nationalwelding competition will be given reimbursement for one round-tripflight ticket and be provided with free accommodation by the Organizing Committee during the competition. The number of theNational Winner in the First Place who can enjoy this priority is nomore than 1. 3. Top three winners in their national welding competition will beprovided with free accommodation by the Organizing Committeeduring the competition. The number of the competitors in a countrywho can enjoy the above two priorities is no more than 4. 4. One team leader in a country can enjoy free accommodationduring competition.
